AS THE TRAWLER CRAWLS

Saturday the 19 was a very slow calm day as we crossed Lake Okeechobee taking the middle route.   The water was very calm and we almost had the lake to our selfs.  We did see the white pelicans which are rare in most area but they love the lake.

We went through 3 locks on Saturday leaving only one more before reaching the Gulf.
We were very lucky to find one slip available that we could shoehorn our boat into for the night at Labelle City Dock.  Other boaters helped with stern lines and we quickly got the free 50 amp power going and the A/C on.  They also provide free water and trash collection neither of which we needed.
This was a BIG improvement over the dolphin pilings the previous night.  Did I mention that all this
was FREE.

TRAWLER BUFF DAY 3 Of  CROSSING

Sunday, July 7, 2014 departed FREE SLIP at 8:00 AM to make a 9:00 AM bridge opening, we got there early and she starting opening as we approached.  What a nice surprise.  As we continued along the Caloosahatchee River we saw some beautiful homes and this was one of our favorites the picture does not do it justice a s the garden, patio area with a beautiful waterfall did not show up.  As we proceeded we saw the metal statue of 2 dolphins.
